Perinatal Counseling
Support for pregnancy, immediate postpartum, and motherhood

Pregnancy, birth, the immediate postpartum period, and mothering beyond the postpartum period all present their own unique challenges.  As a mother, perinatal music therapist, and counselor I understand these different stages of motherhood can feel overwhelming at times and strive to provide women a safe space in which they can identify/explore these feelings and strengthen themselves as mothers and individuals.

During individual perinatal counseling sessions, we will utilize verbal counseling supplemented with music/expressive therapy interventions and techniques when appropriate and of interest to clients.  You may benefit from our perinatal counseling services if….

  • You are feeling overwhelmed by balancing pregnancy/motherhood with work, relationship with partner, other obligations

  • You want to learn/explore holistic and realistic approaches to self-care, deepen your self awareness, and strengthen your relationships with others (including baby)

  • You want to discuss and explore your birthing story (especially if you are disappointed or struggling with what your expectations for birthing were vs. your lived reality of giving birth)

  • You are looking for a safe place to discuss the difficulties or challenges you have faced in your transition to motherhood, while finding ways to identify/celebrate the positive aspects of motherhood and your accomplishments as a mother and individual (no matter how big or small)

Perinatal counseling sessions are held at the South Shore Perinatal Wellness Center (Norwell) and Sing Explore Create, LLC (Rockland) depending on client’s scheduling needs/therapist availability.  Daytime and evening appointments are available.

To schedule an intake, please contact Nicole Craven, MA MT-BC at ncraven@singexplorecreate.com or 781-803-2117 ext. 4
